Tyler, the Creator is hands down the best rapper in the game right now.  The first time I heard his music it was impossible for me to get passes the controversy of the subject matter that he reflects on.  My good friend LiveBreatheFutbol first introduced me to the Odd Future collective a few months back, and the first record I heard from a member in the collective was Earl Sweatshirts – Earl

The initial reaction I had to the music was”….whoa…whoa…PAUSE! Why are these dudes bleeding…this isn’t for me dude!”  The record left quite the impression on me, its amazing how controversial the group is but the lyricism of Earl Sweatshirt is some of the best I have ever heard.  After that initial introduction the group faded away back to its nonexistence in my mind.  Then I remember when the Yonkers video came out Kanye quoting on his twitter that “Yonkers is the video of the year,” I checking the video out on youtube, and low and behold, this guy Tyler, the Creator is connected to the guy Earl Sweatshirt.  This guy was the dude in the hat in the background of the Earl video.  I didn’t immediately disregard the video/song because “If Kanye [my 2nd favorite artist of all time 1st is Michael] thinks its great, and it got his attention, then it must be great.”  So I did myself a favor and actually listened to the record and watched the video.

Two things come to mind when  the video is being watched

one: DID THIS GUY JUST EAT A COCKROACH

and

two: DID THIS GUY JUST HANG HIMSELF!!!!!!

but throughout all of the weirdness the poetic rhymes that spewed out of this guys mouth was intriguing.  This guy can rap!!! This guy is quite talented, and as weird as his music sounds he actually put together a quality enough rhyme pattern that had me forgetting about the cockroach and noose featured in the video, and I started to listen to the words that were being said.  The song grew on me instantly, and I decided it was time for me to take the journey into the ODD Future collective.  I downloaded all the OFWGKTA content that I could.  Out of this downloading binge I took a particular liking to the 2009 “Bastard” album by Tyler, the Creator.  This album was pure genius, I thought to myself “Man, where have I been at?” this guy is incredible.  The subject matter is raw and the lyrics are fresh and inovative…..

So fast forward to today, I am fan of the OFWGKTA movement and will go on record and say that: Tyler, the Creator is the BEST RAPPER ALIVE!

I’m a die hard Boston Celtics fan, and my fanhood goes back to the days when my C’s were just a mediocre team.  Though they had no hope of actually winning a championship (2002 they should of beat the Nets in the Eastern Conference Finals), they were a fun team to watch.  Antoine Walker was a great player during his short time in Boston.  Many people remember his later years in the NBA, during that time he was simply a shell of himself.  The first half of his career was quite an exciting one.  The guy was a legitimate 6’9” power forward and could handle the basketball like a true point guard, and he could also score at will.  His downfall with Celtics came when Danny Ainge took over as President of Basketball Operations.  Antoine Walker displayed tendencies that were good for a boarder line playoff/good team, but he lacked the actual desire to help push a team to a championship.  This realization came at the expense of Antoine Walker’s career with the Celtics and he was sent packing.  Ainge brought him back for a short lived stint during the 2004-2005 NBA season; which saw the Celtics make a resurgent push for the playoffs, only to fall to the Indiana Pacers in the first round (Reggie Miller’s last season).

I wish Antoine resigned with the Celtics after that season, because after that he faded into relative obscurity.  He was out of  the league a few years after that.  Employee #8 will always be remembered as an All Star Celtic in my Book.
